AHI is a public
joint stock company jointly owned by the Ajman Government,
Al-Futtaim
Group,
Keppel Group
of Singapore and other investors.
It provides an
entire spectrum of ship repair, conversion, shipbuilding
and steel fabrication services to the marine, offshore and
engineering industries.
Strategically
located along the coast in the Emirate of Ajman, about 30 km
from Dubai, its 27 hectare yard has easy access by road and
sea. The Company is managed by the Keppel Group, Singapore.
The shiprepair and shipbuilding division of the Group has
one of the largest shipyard operations in Singapore and an
international network of shipyards in Asia, Middle East and
North America.
Combining its
pioneering spirit of serving the shipping industry in the
Gulf with Keppel's technical and management expertise,
financial resources and worldwide marketing network, AHI is
able to meet the most rigorous needs of its customers.
To enhance its
services to its clients, AHI has commissioned 30,000 DWT
dry dock . Named Al Zora, the drydock has enjoyed full
occupancy since its opening in November 2000. This drydock
will service new clients with larger vessels and at the same
time, offer greater flexibility to current clients.
Measuring 175m X 32m, the Al Zora Drydock will accommodate
medium size cargo vessels, container feeders, dredgers and
tankers. With the increased width, it can also accommodate
double hulled tankers within this deadweight category and
other larger new generation anchor handlers, supply boats
and crane barges.
Together with
its subsidiary, Arab Eagle Marine Engineering LLC (AEME) in
Dubai, which offers afloat repair, AHI can undertake all
kinds of marine services, anytime and anywhere in the
Arabian Gulf.
Both AHI and
AEME are accredited with ISO 9002 Certification from the
American Bureau of Shipping.
